We thought it would be easiest to just rent a stroller at Dollywood. Turned out to be a smart decision. They both got to ride, so no complaining of tired legs, and it was much easier and faster to get around this way. They thought it was great to ride together, since they never do that. Ansley was the official map reader, telling us where to go, while Christian supervised.

This picture makes me laugh. And is so typical of so many shots I try to get of the two of them - Christian running off and Ansley laughing. Sometimes Ansley has caused him to run off, but most of the time he does it on his own. We were walking downtown overlooking the river, and there was so much for them to see!

This picture was sent to me this evening, and it made me smile. John and Christian are enjoying a father/son campout, and here they are enjoying dinner. Before a campfire and S'mores, I'm sure.
As for me and Ansley, we enjoyed hanging out with some Mamas and daughters, where we ate dinner and then went to a paint your own pottery place. Ansley chose a cat, even though I really wanted her to choose a tea cup (something she could use). She also chose to paint the cat purple and blue, even though I thought gray or maybe even black might be a better cat choice. She insisted on purple, with blue paws and pink polka dots. That girl has a mind of her own, for sure.
But it was a fun Mama and daughter time! Tomorrow morning we may even get crazy and go out to breakfast together! Although Ansley has requested McDonald's, and THAT, my friends, is where I draw the line. Blue polka dot cats, sure, play with knives, run with scissors, but McDonald's?? Nope. Not me.
I'm thinking Cracker Barrel. I'm ready for breakfast now!

The kids were so excited to hit the pool for the first time. We spent the morning at my friend Rebecca's pool, along with lots of other moms and kids. I had some better pictures of the kids than this one, but I just love what this one captures. Christian was complaining that his swim trunks were too big, so Ansley was helping him tie them up so they wouldn't keep falling to his knees. They both had a great time swimming and playing the day away.
And I love Christian's little muscle shirt. Oh, those arms!

We met Mimi halfway, and enjoyed lunch, hanging out, shopping, playing at a park, and Chick-Fil-A milkshakes before heading back home. John was out of town, so it was a great way to break up the long day for me, and the kids always love seeing Mimi whenever they can. It was a fun day that went by so fast! And an hour's drive for some Mimi time just made everybody's day!

Today we explored downtown with my sweet friends Anne and Katie, and our six kids. I couldn't get a photo of all six of them, but here's four at the fountain in the park. We enjoyed a picnic, dancing to Rocky Top, and some of us got wet, but it made for a wonderful morning!

Ansley was dancing around at the thought of cats and dogs and frogs and bugs...all for her to explore! Animals and nature...that is this girl's calling. She LOVES it! Fortunately, there was a lot for her to explore!
