I love that while Ansley was in quiet time today (and I took a nap on the couch), she made this "get well" picture for me, and even found the tape to hang it on the window. The glare is tough, I know, but it says "I love you Mom" and it's a picture of the two of us. I thought it was so sweet - a first day of school treat!
What? You were expecting a roller coaster shot, or a cute picture of the four of us, perhaps, in front of the Six Flags sign? Not much keeps me from my camera mission, but hot and sweaty = no camera. So this is the shot on our way home, as I remembered I had no picture for that day, of the eight lanes of Atlanta traffic. Crazy!
Mark and Ashley, me and John, Chris and Kimberly. We all went out to dinner together and chatted for awhile, then came back to Mark and Ashley's house. We love these guys!
Mimi's here!! Oh happy day! Ansley and Christian LOVE when Mimi comes, and I don't think anyone could feel more loved than Mimi when she pulls into the driveway. They shoot out of the house yelling "Mimi's here!" at the top of their lungs as they race to her car.
We are very thankful that Mimi was able to spend the weekend with the kids while John and I headed to Atlanta. Thanks, Mimi!
We headed to the pool this morning and stayed until it was Christian's naptime. As always, Ansley had a blast playing with her friends, and Christian spent the time eating. Every time we go to the pool, he decides that he's hungry right then, even if he just ate five minutes ago. Ansley doesn't want to stop playing long enough to eat. That's the pool life this year - we'll see how different it is next year!

I thought this was a pretty good shot of Kota, taken by Ansley, and it's been awhile since I've had a picture of her.....and, yes, this was the only photo taken on this day.
Ansley LOVES the Little House books. Maybe almost as much as The Seven Silly Eaters. We find as many as we can each time we go to the library (this time we found three) and that's all she wants to read the rest of the week. It has never ocurred to me to find the Little House series on tv (surely it is still playing, right?) and let her watch an episode or two. She would probably be thrilled!
Today we headed out after church to meet Mimi halfway and pick up Christian. We ate at Cracker Barrel, and then came back home. Christian had such a great week, he didn't even want to come home. But all good things must come to an end.
