Yesterday John took off work and we went to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus with our friends Ron, Kelly, McKane and Riese, and their Grandma. We had been pumping Ansley up for it all week, so she was pretty excited to go. We got there about an hour before the show started because we heard there was a pre-show deal where you could see the animals, performers, etc. We got to touch an elephant (when it got close, Ansley said "Whoa!"), as well as see other animals, clowns (Ansley was a little intimidated), and gymnasts.
Then the show started, and Ansley was pretty mesmerized (see photo of McKane and Ansley). It was really fun to see what interested her - she enjoyed everything involving animals - we saw elephants, tigers, llamas, camels, dogs, goats, and horses - all very impressive. We also enjoyed trapeze performers, gymnasts that did all kinds of crazy stuff, the tigers and their trainer, elephants doing tricks, and lots and lots of clowns. They also had music throughout the show, and of course Ansley was always on her feet, dancing. :) The show lasted about 2 1/2 hours (with an intermission) which I have to say was a little long for Ansley. The last 30 minutes or so she was ready to go, very tired and wiggly. But afterwards we all ate lunch together in the CNN center, and that perked her up. All in all, it was a very fun day at the circus!
I saw this advertised on TV and was thinking how fun it would be to take Ansley, Jace, and Hayden (y'all, Goode's, and Payne's) but I'm so glad that y'all got to go. We'll make sure to ask her about it next time we see her. :)

I remember when we took you and Jonathan to the circus. I thought it was very exciting. What was lunch at CNN like? Did you see anything there?

Glad you guys had fun at the circus! We took Alex to the Big Apple circus Saturday - he, too, was a bit intimidated by the clowns! And, yes, the animals were the biggest hit! Hope you guys are having a good week, looking forward to seeing you Friday.
