This is known as birthday week around here, and everyone is quite excited. I'm not sure who is more excited - me or Ansley - but Ansley is on Cloud 9 talking about all the people coming, the pink festivities, and which princess dress she wants to wear (fortunately it's always Cinderella, which just so happens to be the one she is getting for her birthday). :)
It is absolutely perfect weather here today -breezy and cool. It actually feels like fall! So Ansley and I have been playing outside all morning. For the first time today, Ansley started pretending to be someone, and having me pretend to be someone, which was so unbelievably cool to me. My kind of play! She was Cinderella and I was "Mommy Punzel" (Rapunzel). She stood at the bottom of her play fort, and I climbed up to the top (yes, a little challenging to do) and she yelled "Mommy Punzel! Mommy Punzel! Let down your hay-er" (that's how my little girl says hair). And then we fought off evil Maleficent and the wicked stepmother, as well as several dragons and monsters that were lurking in the yard. We were fortunate to make it back to the "castle!" When we came back inside for quiet time, she gives me a big hug and says "Mommy, I had a wonderful time playing with you in the yard." So touching. Makes me so, so happy that I can spend these days with her, watching her mind and her imagination grow.
Our kitchen hasn't had anything done since my last pictures, but tomorrow they will be finishing up. We will have a functioning kitchen, complete with oven and microwave. So exciting! :) And just in time.
Quiet time is almost over for today....alas, there are more dragons to slay!
Yeah for celebration week! Can't wait to see all the pic's of all the fun! Amazing how their imaginations just really start to take off, isn't it? Love the story of her pretend play today- how cute! I agree- we are very blessed to have these days at home with our little ones. Priceless and never taken for granted! :) I'll let you get back to slaying those dragons! :))
