We think alike, because when I first got this, I immediately thought how I need to put it on my site too (and probably will still)! :) Thanks for responding, I love reading other people's answers, and how funny we are very similar on so many! :)

Oh my gosh! So I have to tell you, Brian has always said that if we ever had a boy that his room would be done in an airplane theme (for the same reason as John wanting to do an airplane theme) and there would be no if's, and's, or but's about it! And secretly, I always thought, and still do, that it would make a very cute boys room! And the airplane theme from PBK has always caught my eye! Love it! :)) Great minds definitely think alike! SO can't wait to see his room, and if we ever have a boy, well I may just have to hire you two to do the same room for us! he he

I got this from Desta, too... so I'll post my response here:

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot chocolate, but egg nog is growing on me as I get older
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? wrapped, but really we've not focused on this yet, since Alex was so young - maybe this year
3. Colored or lights on tree/house? white lights all the way
4. Do you hang mistletoe? not usually
5. When do you put your decorations up? the weekend of thanksgiving - friday or saturday usually . Should be interesting this year, as I'm sure Alex will want to help!
6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? sweet potato casserole and cranberry jello salad, stuffing
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child. the day after thanksgiving when all of our extended family would join us for "turkey pie" another one of my very favorite holiday dishes
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I was never taught about Santa
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? No, we let the anticipation build
10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? well, the first few years were mostly ornaments from Shawn's childhood, and ornaments that people have given us (not the kind I really like)-- since I had such little experience with decorating from my own childhood (ok, no experience). Now, I'm slowly trying to develop my own "style" mostly with color (burgundy and gold) -- and I'd like to start a "kids tree" soon too - to find a home for all of those "cutesy" ornaments that have been sitting in boxes for a year or two now
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? I love snow - although it is a fonder memory now that I never get to see it. I always loved playing in it as a child - building igloos, snowmen, snow angels, sledding, skiing --- I can picture all of that without having to think about the bitter chill (or having to drive in it and clean off your car)
12. Can you ice skate? Yes, we had a lake and a pond in our neighborhood and I grew up skating every winter -- funny, I can still imagine the scent of my skates as I picture it -- sort of a cracked, aged leather smell (as most of my skates were older hand me downs from neighbors) I even took an ice skating class in college where I tried out hockey skates, and briefly pictured myself playing intramural hockey (never happened)
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? as soon as I say "yes" I 'll feel guilty for forgetting another great one, but getting my digital camera was a total surprise, and still is one of my favorite possessions
14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? being certain I teach my children that the most important part of Christmas is knowing that our Savior was born for us and that we are celebrating the wonderful life that we can enjoy knowing that.
15. Your favorite Holiday Dessert? I love cookies more than anything; I especially enjoy making and decorating cut-out cookies
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Christmas eve dinner, christmas breakfast, making cookies as a family (okay, food tops our list!) listening to Christmas music with the all the lights off except for the tree, driving around the neighborhood with big mugs of hot cocoa looking at lights... I could go on - I enjoy every moment, especially as Alex is now going to get to experience them and hopefully appreciate it a little this year
17. What tops your tree? It has always been a bow, but last year I bought a star - so now a star
18. Which do you prefer giving or Receiving? giving - I love wrapping presents to give, and the excitement of knowing you've found something someone will enjoy -- especially when it's your child!
19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? I could listen to Harry Connick Jr. all day - I love his Christmas CD especially. Shawn and I even went to see him in concert at Christmas three years ago - what a treat! I don't have a favorite song though
20. Candy Canes!. I love traditional candy canes - not so much to eat - but they are great swirled into hot cocoa and I think they are just a staple for Christmas
21. What is your favorite Christmas Movie? We always watch "Christmas Vacation" while putting our tree up - it was Shawn's favorite, and I enjoy it. I have to say though, that my favorites are still the cartoons - The Grinch, Frosty, and Rudolph. I suppose that since I never really had a traditional Christmas as a child - those are the memories that I do have - getting to watch those specials each year on TV. Now, Alex has some of them on DVD - and while it's great getting to watch them whenever you want, it's not the same as having to wait.
