Are you up for a wild story today? Good! Here goes: A long, long time ago John worked with a guy named Derek at Kimberly-Clark. John and I got married, so then I met Derek, too. Then we moved, and Derek married Renee. A few years later, John runs into Derek, and they exchange emails. Somehow, John and Derek emails turn into Megan and Renee emails, even though I had never met Renee. Around this time Ansley is born, and Renee also has her first-born, Sarah, so we email back and forth about being new moms and nursing, baby things and milestones. Then Sarah gets older, they have another girl, Hannah, and Ansley gets older, too. We both are interested in homeschooling, so we email about that (A LOT) and what it's like to have a 2-year old, a 3-year old, a new sibling, a growing family. So for almost 5 years now, Renee and I have emailed novels to each other, but have never actually met. We spoke on the phone for the first time last week when Renee called to tell us that Derek had a work related business trip in Gatlinburg, so they would be coming and would we like to get together? Of course! So, on Sunday, I met Renee for the first time, and the kids, Sarah, 6; Ansley, 4; Hannah, 4; Christian, 1; and Lydia, 6 months got to meet for the first time as well. The older girls really enjoyed playing together all afternoon. And I so enjoyed finally meeting Renee! I know if we lived nearby, we would be getting together all the time and our kids would be fast friends!
Thanks, Derek and Renee, for a wonderful visit! We really enjoyed it! (And Ansley has not stopped talking about "her friends".)
{We were supposed to go to the aquarium today, but Hannah is not feeling well. We are hoping all will be better, and we'll try again on Thursday. Hope you are feeling better, Hannah!}
Hi Megan. What great pictures of our dizzy girls! :) I'm so happy that we got to spend time with your family last week. It was SO good to have a long TALK instead of typing a long email and Derek was glad to get to catch up with John after all these years. Thanks again for coming all the way to the aquarium with us. Your stingray shot made me laugh. Sarah and Hannah really enjoying getting to know Ansley. That's so sweet that she asked how to get to Mississippi. :)
