(with my apologies to James Whitcomb Riley and Little Orphan Annie)
The germy nasty flu bug has come to our house to play
To knock Mom off her feet and bring John home to stay
To fix the meals and wipe the noses and dole out medicine and then
Wake up the next day to start all over again!
It's miserable and achy and tiring and such
And I don't want to do it again this year, thank you very much
For now I'll sit and sip hot tea and wait for this germ to flee
And write down this poem to document my history.
I'll get back to the blog eventually
Once these germs have let me be
But for now let's all take medicine and try not to pout
For the flu bug will get YOU, if ya don't watch out.
I am so, so sorry. The flu is an awful germ...and for a mom especially. Not being able to take care of your family is such a terrible feeling-I've been experiencing that a lot lately with morning sickness.
Rest and get well soon!

It's so funny (not being sick) but I can hear Grandma singing that poem. It is very good, Megan, especially knowing that a sick mind doesn't work as well!! Just think of the poetry you can write when you are well!! Get well soon.
