I love holidays. Really it's just an excuse to do fun crafts and bake yummy things and blame the calories on a holiday. Which pretty much means now through Labor Day, I'll have an excuse for eating extra treats smothered in chocolate, all while saying "after the holidays, though, I'll get right back to eating healthy."
I plan on jumping right on that come October. Oh, wait, Halloween. Yikes. And then Thanksgiving, Christmas...but January 2011, THAT'S my month to go all crazy with healthy eating.
But back to our Week of Love. Valentine's Day is quickly approaching, and we have had a fun week celebrating the love we have for each other as a family in all sorts of fun and silly ways.
First, though, we did get snow today, and around here, we LOVE snow. Right up til the end of February, and then it needs to stop. Did you hear me, Tennessee weather? You need to stop with the snow soon, because I will not be happy with snow in March. March = Spring in the South, and I would like to keep it that way.
Yeah, it's not really that impressive. A few feet of snow would make a much better picture, but that's not where we live.
We made Valentine's Boxes, so the kids could put all their valentines in it. What valentines, you ask? Well the ones they get in the mail, and the ones they make each other, and the ones I make them. That's pretty much it. But, still, they love their Valentine Box (and they have no idea that they are missing out on getting 30+ valentines from classmates.) So they are happy.
We also made some yummy chocolate and peanut butter treats this week, but I didn't get any pictures of those. Probably because we ate them so fast, and I hated to pick up my camera with chocolate all over my fingers. The chocolate might have rubbed off onto my camera, and licking my camera may cause it to not work quite right.
Today, I made the kids Funny Valentines for lunch. They thought it was hilarious, and giggled all the way through lunch.
As a funny side note, Christian calls hugs and kisses "lovin'" and he will let me know each day if I'm getting a lot of lovin' or just a little bit of lovin'. Thankfully, most days it's lots 'o lovin', but I'm not really sure what happens from day to day that makes him decide one day I'm just getting a little kiss all day, and that's it. But it's funny to me, just the same.
A very fun week of lovin'! And there's more to come......
Lots of love from us to you

Fun - I thought about getting H a little mailbox for notes and trinkets and stuff, not just Vday though. Maybe I'll get around to it! We've been looking forward to 'heart' day around here too. :)
