For Ansley's seventh birthday, there were two things she wanted: a slumber party, and a trip to the American Girl store. We decided to combine both by doing a slumber party at a hotel in Atlanta and then doing the American Girl store. She could bring one friend with her, and we planned it for the weekend after John returned from all his travels. (Mimi came over and stayed with Christian for the night. Many thanks to Mimi!)
We got there late on Friday afternoon. We stayed at the Marriott, which had an American Girl package that we had booked. The girls got to check in their rooms, and had their own special registration area. SO cute, and they were pretty excited about the whole thing. (She chose her friend Kennedy, who also has a birthday a week after Ansley's.)
They had so many super cute special touches throughout our stay. They really did a great job! The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, Vidalia's, where again we dined with a pink table cloth, pink napkins, and American Girls joining us for breakfast.
The next morning we got up and headed to Sweet and Sassy, where the girls got their hair done, as well as manicures and pedicures. This was a surprise, and they were so excited.
They got all sorts of fancy treatment that they thought was just fabulous!
After all the dolling up, we headed to the American Girl store, of course. The girls enjoyed walking around and got to pick out something for their dolls, and then we enjoyed lunch in the bistro.
It was such a fun time, and the girls really enjoyed themselves. It's funny, though, after all the fun stuff we had planned, they both agreed the best part was the hotel room. I guess now we know we can just celebrate Ansley's 8th birthday by staying in a local hotel. Who knew?
There are more photos in the photo album on the side called Ansley's Seventh Birthday.
So cute :) Glad you had a good time. Hotel rooms are so very fun for kids. I have no idea why... and they never seem to grow bored with it, even when they should.
