Saturday was our annual slip 'n slide party! Wait, I already said that in the title. Anyway, this year was the biggest year ever, with 58 people. Whew! It was a lot of fun, and a lot of kids! John added another slide this year so we could have racing slides.

A view of the craziness! The Dads hung out at the top and kept the slides well watered. And of course, they went down the slide too, "for the kids", right? We had lots of inner tubes this year, which always makes it more fun.

We took a break to eat some homemade BBQ, beans, chips and watermelon. And banana pudding for dessert. Then it was back for more slip and sliding!
It was such a fun time, enjoying a summer evening with some of our favorite people!
I have to record for memories sake: Ansley and Christian started "testing out" the slip and slide when John was setting it up, a good two hours before the party began at 3 pm. Then they continued to slip and slide through the whole party, which lasted until about 8 pm. Ansley was definitely a bit harder at it, constantly running up the hill and coming back down. So when we finally headed in around 8, Ansley announces "I'm so tired I almost fell asleep walking inside!" Now THAT'S a tired girl!
And I have to say that this would have been very difficult to pull off had Mimi not come in town on Saturday. She stayed inside with Avery, out of the heat, while we hosted and had fun. So a big thanks to Mimi for helping us out - it would have been very difficult to do without her here!
