It's been awhile, so this is a Two-Fer-One: random updates with random Instagram photos thrown in! What could be more fun?!
1. Before we left, Ansley got a hair cut. If you've seen her, you are definitely aware of this. But if you haven't seen her, she got seven inches cut off. It was a lot.
Here's the before.
Wowzers, it was long!
And here's the after.
It really is cute, although I think I prefer it a little longer. It's still long, for sure, but Ansley has always had LONG hair and it just suits her. Like someone said today when she told him she got seven inches cut off: "Why'd you go and do that for?!" My thoughts exactly. But I admit it's very cute and summery.
2. We enjoyed a friend's 40th birthday party on a catered, air conditioned yacht. It was really nice and enjoyable! This is the kid's table, where they enjoyed their lunch. (We left Avery at home with a babysitter.)
3.The early days of our screened porch. It has been really fun watching it go up. And, a ton of work for the three guys that have been working on it. I am thankful that we have a seriously awesome crew working on it - very polite, no cussing or smoking, and really hard working! (And trust me, we've had a LOT of work done lately, and I know this is a rare combo!) Coming from the Painting Catastrophe of 2012, it is really a blessing.
It is now almost done - probably just a few days left til completion! I can't wait!
4.Lake life is rough. Day after day of relaxing and playing can really wear a person out.
5. There was one morning of rain while we were at the lake, so the girls headed out to get a pedicure. Ansley talked me into this, and I admit it is quite fun. And patriotic.
Cute, right? At the hair salon today this guy comes up to me and says "Honey, do you have flags on your toes?" And I said yes, I did. And he said "Well, I have never seen that before! It's so cute!" It was quite funny.
6. I took Avery to her well check up, and her doctor said that her back teeth were so swollen they were bruised. Owww. So we can certainly blame some pain and grumpiness on those teeth. I wonder if bruised gums makes you sassy too?
7. I made blackberry cobbler for dessert on the 4th. It was gone very quickly.
8. I got my hair done today, so it's straight. I really love the freedom of straight hair for a few days! But no one else in my family likes it much. It is growing on Ansley a little bit, because she can play with it and brush it, something she can't do when it's curly.
9. I can't believe it's already July. July!
10. It was really a Top Nine.
Was 7" enough to donate? I don't know how long you have to have to donate? I bet Ansley would get a kick out of that. I love straight-hair Megan. Never experienced it live, but I like the pictures :) Can't wait to see the screened in porch in just a couple of weeks.
