I am always aware that time is moving forward, and despite my momentary frustrations, my passion in life is to point my children to their Savior, create a rich and meaningful family life, provide warm memories, and document our everyday life together.
And bake.
And eat Chick-Fil-A.
Turns out, I have a lot of passions.
But I am very passionate about creating a rich and loving childhood for my kids.
There are so many moments that make up the days, the weeks, the years we have together. I love capturing those random, silly moments that would otherwise go unnoticed.
Yes, 18 month old Avery is a lot of work. But she's also very sweet and silly. I want to remember these things. She is cracking up at her brother, and Ansley is being oh-so-silly in the background. I love that you can see Mimi in this shot, too, reminding us how blessed we are to have her presence in our lives on a daily basis.
This same exact scenario happens about 68 times a day. Avery is after my phone, and she has learned to push the chair over, climb up, and unhook it from its charge. Then she promptly puts it to her ear and says "Hello?" And there's just something kind of cool looking about a black and white photo.
I'm confident when my kids are older, they will be very thankful that I took so many photographs. They might, however, wonder if I was actually around during their childhood. I am rarely in front of the camera and always behind it. I'm trying to make a habit of getting in front of it more often, even if that means setting the timer. Ansley took this photo today of me fixing dinner. Even though I'm blurry, I'm okay with it. I love that the pot I make tea in is on the stove, because I am always making tea. I love that the clock is in focus and you can see it's 3:57. These days, I find it easier to do some dinner prep while Avery naps. I know that it won't always be like this.
I love this. Christian and Avery were running around, giggling and screaming and having a good ol' time. And Ansley was glued to her book, reading away, tuning out the world around her. She wasn't even aware that I was taking a picture.
We walked to a farmer's market while Ansley was in dance class, and this huge fan really captured Avery's attention. She was so cute, letting out her squeals of delight. The delights of a toddler are so fun!
John giving Christian a little lesson on the world. Christian is FULL of questions, and asks many, many questions a day. Most often, I say something really smart like "Um, why don't you wait for your Dad to get home and ask him?"
There's a glimpse into our every day life. Photos are a great reminder to me of all my blessings, and how thankful I am for this life of mine!
I loved this glimpse into your everyday and your motherhood thankfulness!
