These days go by so fast. I came across this and startled myself. This was last year at this time.
Look at that sweet baby!
Now I have a sweet toddler. She was just starting to turn a corner, right before she got sick. She was starting to play more with actual toys instead of school supplies, and she was just happier. But then she got sick and now she's really clingy. But I know it will pass.
She loves to read. She loves her Bun Bun. This picture wasn't taken this morning, but when I took her to the doctor this morning, he said "Wow, she sure has some wild hair, doesn't she?" It made me a little paranoid about her hair. But I do love that it's curly. And wild.
I really enjoy this show called America's Test Kitchen, where they try to make the best of whatever they are making. So the best brownies, or the best cheesecake, or whatever. I do notice those are all sweets. Maybe that's why I like it. Anyway, when John is gone I like to keep the tv on in my room for the light and noise. And I also like to keep it on America's Test Kitchen because there are no freaky commercials or movie previews to freak me out. I know I have issues. So one night this recipe came on for a Berry Fool. I had never heard of it, but they said it dated back to the 15th century, and they were unsure why it was called a fool. Well it was one of those things that took a hold of me and I decided I had to make it. So the next day, I did.
I'm a fool for the fool, I learned. It is yummy. It's cream and pureed fruit mixed with more fruit and a cracker crumb topping. It was really yummy! I just thought I'd share my latest obsessions. They also have a delicious looking brownie recipe that I'm aiming for next.
We cleaned out the garage this past weekend - it was long overdue. And Ansley rediscovered the jumprope.
She has been jumping away lately. She's getting pretty good, and she was amazed at my jump roping skills. (I just wear out a lot faster.) She had an excerpt in Language Arts the other day of a few paragraphs from The Secret Garden. She absolutely had to find that book and read the entire thing. So we found it and she read it in two days. In case you haven't read it, it has a girl in it, Mary, whose only toy is a jump rope, so that's what started her on the jump rope quest.
I guess she gets her obsessions naturally, now that I think about it.
The kids last day of co-op (for this year) was today. They had a Christmas party with lots of yummy things to eat and games. We made some fun teacher gifts and treats for them to give to their teachers. Mimi stayed home with the poor baby because she was feeling really rough. Poor Bay.
That's what is going on these days. What's going on with you?
I LOVE Americas Test Kitchen too! They actually make cooking seem possible ;). Time sure does fly! And the hair?! Oh my, it's adorable! My Avery has wild curly hair too...we always joke she looks like she's being raised by a pack of wolves;). Thank you so much for the christmas card...it's beautiful! Speaking of time flying, can you believe how long we've known each other???
