But first let's back up.
This morning John took Avery to the doctor, because since she had her stomach bug, her little hiney has been getting worse and worse. It looks seriously inflamed. Our pediatrician gave her two different ointments to slather on, but said the best thing would be to let her run around without her diaper (and to stop her antibiotic). Well, that's not the easiest thing to do for a girl who has diarrhea, and no control of either region.
So that's made for an interesting day. It's so bad that she screamed through her nap, so I finally went upstairs a little before 3 pm and rocked her for a bit. Nothing was happening then, but when I came out of her room, snow was pouring down! It was so pretty! Pouring down is relative; for the South, it was pouring down.
Of course the kids were super excited and they got dressed right away and ran out to play. I thought I'd just take Avery out in it first, because I thought she might not like all that snow in her face. So, still wrapped up in her blanket from the rocking, we stepped outside. She was quite mesmerized.
I love this look on her face, with the curl coming down the middle.
It was cold, so we went back inside, but Avery protested. OWWWSIDE!!! SNOW!!
So I got her bundled up and we went out to play too.
She kind of stood like a little frozen snow bunny at first.
But she warmed up pretty quickly.
I know it looks like I hardly got any pictures of Christian, but that's not true. I did - he was just running around and playing so much that they were blurry. I did try though.
We all came in and enjoyed hot chocolate and warmed up.
And Avery resumed her nudie tudie state. It does seem to be helping - at least we're hoping so! A quick shot of the girls just before bed. They were some worn out girls - Avery because she didn't nap, and Ansley because she was up at 5:30 am reading a book, and never went back to sleep. Plus all that fresh outdoor air really took a toll on them. We didn't hear a peep tonight.
I really, really love the snow. It delights me, and my kids too!
