We had a wonderful Christmas celebrating with Mimi, JonJon and Missy.
We told the kids they couldn't get up before 7, and Mimi, JonJon and Missy were coming over at 7. Ironically, they all arrived and we were still sleeping! We had to wake the kids up at 7:02, but then they were all really excited.
Avery is quite possibly the girliest girl in this house. I know that's hard to believe since I live here too. But if it's pink and sparkly, she wants it. She got this princess nightgown, pink bracelet and headband in her stocking, and she wore them all day. She's playing with pink magnetic dolls (from Mimi) and she loves changing their outfits and playing with them.
The last gifts Ansley and Christian opened were iPad minis. They were very excited, and surprised. They love them, of course, and played with them most of the day. We got them the full version of Minecraft, which all three of them love to play. They were thrilled!
Enjoying Christmas Day, playing with new toys and hanging out together.
Christmas morning breakfast - stuffed blueberry French toast with blueberry sauce and orange juliuses. Yum!
Avery is on my iPad, but she can hang with the older kids playing Minecraft. They also got some other games - Don't Spill the Beans, Battleship, and Headbandz.
Playing dolls with Mimi. Ansley and Christian got several Wii games from JonJon and Missy, so they really enjoyed playing those in the basement, with JonJon of course!
The kids all got puppets from Mimi, and this is Ansley's pig that JonJon is using to make Avery laugh hysterically. JonJon's pretty good at that!
In Avery's stocking, she got these fairy tale Tell Me A Story cards, and they were a big hit! She went around to everybody asking for a story. Here's Mimi spinning a tale with Avery.
Missy and Avery getting some laughs in. Missy is such a sweet aunt, always willing to play with the kids and get down on the floor with them.
Silly time!
And a normal one.
I am so thankful for the love of our Savior, for this family of mine, and the times we can spend together. At the end of the day, I asked Christian what his favorite gift was. His response? "Mom, the best gift is our family - you and Dad, Ansley, Avery, and Mimi, JonJon and Missy. That's the best gift."
I couldn't agree more.
