Christian is at the age where he's starting to get into "his" things. He loves karate, and we signed him up for baseball because he really wanted to, and because the season is only six weeks so we thought it'd be a good introduction for him. He is actually doing really well with it!
I hesitate to call it tee ball because they don't use a tee. Isn't that why it's called tee ball? I'm not up on my Little League knowledge, but this is a coach pitched, and only if you can't hit it after 4 or 5 times do they pull out the tee. They didn't have to pull it out for Christian.
This morning was his first game, and it is just so cute to see all these little boys in baseball uniforms, doing their best to understand the game and figure out who to throw it to now that they have the ball and when to run. SO CUTE.
Christian has a thing. He has to have HIS bat, even though there are other bats provided. But he wants his. Here he is at the start of the game, walking with his coach. I can hardly stand the adorableness.
She looks determined doesn't she? And she is - determined to run on the field while the game is being played.
Yay, he swings and hits!
Run, Christian, run! He makes it to first base. You're impressed with how fast I move, aren't you?
At the end of the game, both teams line up and they give each other high fives. Such sportsmanship.
And of course the parent tunnel. You may remember this from when Ansley played soccer. That's Christian going through. It's hard to tell them apart when they are in their uniforms.
So cute. I have to say that I think Christian is pretty good at baseball. Granted, the only thing I have to compare it to is Ansley played soccer at this age, and we now know that soccer just wasn't her thing. But that's okay, now she's moved on to things that are. But Christian is much more in the game - he hits the ball, he throws well, he runs, he hustles. It seems to be something he really enjoys, which is fun to see!
Of course, he may just be in it for the after game snack.
But either way, we look forward to watching this season!
