Mark, Ashley and Hamilton arrived this evening with a birthday cake for Christian. After dinner, we all sang happy birthday and enjoyed cake together. It's always just like old times when we get together with them!

I woke up this morning and really NEEDED some peanut butter granola over yogurt. So the kids helped me make some, and then we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. I didn't say healthy, just delicious. YUM!

Today we had a company come and fix a big break in our sidewalk. This is how Christian stayed pretty much all morning, mesmerized by their work. It was rather fascinating to watch, but Ansley and I got so much school done while Christian sat here, shouting out updates every so often. My favorite update? "MOM! That guy just SPIT in our YARD!"
Good to know.

And a sewing project for me today. Sometimes, when I get something in my head, I MUST CREATE IT or else. I'm not sure what else would happen, but I do like the satisfaction of a completed project that turned out cute. I'm almost done - I'll show you the end product soon. (Hint: It's for Avery.)

Painting projects for the kids today. I love the look of concentration! He did a nice job of color blocking, and Ansley and I were so impressed we hardly noticed that he kept calling purple blue. (I've long suspected Christian is color blind.)
