Today we met some sweet long-time friends for lunch at Chick Fil A. (They were on their way back home from vacationing in the Smokies.) John and Derek go way back, from early Kimberly-Clark days, and Renee and I became friends via email but have never lived in the same town. But over the years she has become one of my sweetest, most thoughtful and encouraging friends, even though we don't live nearby. I dearly love this family and the sweet friendship that we have. Here is Christian (the only boy!), Ansley, Avery, Sarah (10), Hannah (7) and Lydia (4). I kept telling Avery that she was going to grow up to look like Lydia. I guess we will see. Such a fun visit!

This is what I do.
I take pictures. This blog is a way for me to capture the every day moments in this season of my life before it becomes too foggy in my memory for me to recall. This is a tangible reminder of what my life was like, what we did, what was important to us, how we spent our days. These are the every day matters, because to me, every day matters.

We made the photo of the day! :) Thank you so much for making time to meet us today even though John had to work. YOU are the one who is an encouragement to me across the miles! Your friendship is a blessing to me and I was so glad to see you in person and get a hug. I could've stayed to talk all afternoon, so I'm sorry it was such a short visit on our way home. It made me smile to see our kids together!
