Mimi brought my Dad's train, thinking that the kids would enjoy it. I have fond memories of this train. My Dad would bring it out every Christmas and set it up around the Christmas tree. Jonathan and I would build present tunnels and have endless hours of playing with this train. It only came out at Christmas, so it always seemed like a special treat. Now the tradition is being passed on to my children, which I love. One of the things - there are many - but one of the things that bothers me about my Dad dying is that my kids don't get a chance to really know him. So I love that in small ways we can pass on the PopPop legacy, with stories and laughter, and in a thousand little ways, like bringing out trains at Christmas.
What a wonderful memory for y'all to pass on to your children. Man, my son would've loved to have been there!! So glad that your mom brought PopPop's trains - every wheel-rod touching his continual presence in your childrens (and your) hearts.
