Between co-op classes and karate for both of them, the kids were gone for a large part of the day, particularly Ansley since she takes more classes. So it was me and this munchkin most of the day. (Mimi takes the kids to karate class once a week - a huge help!) When she woke up from her nap, I brought her down and gave her a little snack on the couch. Kota jumped up and laid down on Avery's lap. Avery doesn't know how rare this is, so I had to document the moment.

Christian's getting geared up for tee ball. We got a flyer in the mail about it (through the church we have gone through for soccer and VBS) but I didn't think much about it. When I mentioned it to Christian, however, he was very excited about it and wanted to do it. He had a little league evaluation this evening, and practice starts in mid-March. He is the cutest little tee baller I've ever seen!

It was a quick weekend, and a long trip home, but she did really well again. Maybe we are turning that corner?! After we got home, Ansley and I headed to the grocery store so we could get ready for the week. We had a light dinner since we ate lunch late on the way home. And Avery decided she really wanted to start helping out in the cleaning department, which the kids are more than happy to share. (Her Daddy did her pigtails, which I find so adorable.)

Today me, John, Ansley and Christian headed over to visit his uncle's horses. (A different uncle, his mom's brother). Ansley brushed them, and they both fed them and played with the cat that was there. Even though it was a chilly weekend, it was good to get outside for a bit and run around. The kids, especially Ansley, love it!

Today we headed to Alabama to visit John's mom. Actually, his uncle was coming in town (his dad's brother) whom he hasn't seen in quite awhile, so we were going to spend some time with him, since he just lost his wife to cancer. In Avery's life so far, she hasn't been known for her great traveling skills, but she did really well on this trip. She slept a little, and really enjoyed watching Elmo videos. It's a five hour drive, which is long for an adult, but we were pleasantly surprised with how well she did!

Seriously? Again. Avery got sick at the beginning of last week, then the kids started some sniffles over the weekend, and then me, of course. (No, not John whose insides are made of steel, or some sort of germ barrier.) I went to the doctor today and am on an antibiotic, and Avery is as well for an ear infection (the older two are fine and back to normal). Oh, spring, where are you??

As soon as we buy grapes, we pluck 'em and wash 'em and put 'em in a bowl, which makes them much easier to eat. This evening I had three great helpers to pluck for me.

Ansley came home from school (co-op) this afternoon, and I found this in her backpack. It made me smile because I remember passing notes in school quite often. It also made me smile because I knew she would tell me about it at some point. Ansley likes to talk and inform me of every little detail about her day, and I love this about her. I always know who likes her hair, who hurt her feelings, who her favorite teacher is, and what she enjoys about her classes. I pray it is always this way.

The cabinet to the left of my stove. It keeps lots of spices, and all the medicines that I take in the morning, like vitamins, kidney stone preventer and acidophilus. I use this cabinet a lot, because it holds lots of my baking stuff, like vanilla, baking soda and powder, and sprinkles and cookie cutters.
(This wasn't a last minute shot for today. I have mentioned that I am in year six of taking a photo every day, so sometimes I have to change things up so it's not always the same shots. I've been thinking for a few days now that it might be interesting to snap a shot inside a cabinet and see how it changes with the years. Not as interesting as how a two year old changes, I know, but it's YEAR SIX.)

I know the past few days have been a little Avery-heavy, but I'm trying to document her in all her two-ness. Today John and the two kids ran some errands in the afternoon, so I put Avery down for a nap, rejoiced at my freedom, maybe danced a little, and then when she woke up, we played. And she wanted to cut this fruit about 428 times. She'd cut it, clap and say "I did it!" and then "Again! Again!" So I'd put it all back together, she'd cut it and we'd repeat. Two years olds are so funny sometimes, and incredibly sweet, in those sweet moments, of course. (They are also incredibly frustrating in those frustrating moments, but we're focusing on the sweet ones here.)
