This is the best I could do for Avery's Preschool shot. I say Preschool, since she's 2 1/2, but I'm not doing anything formal with her. She colors, sorts, looks at books, participates when she is interested, and has activities that she can do, or not, based on her interest.

Sunday dinners at Mimi's have resumed! We headed over there for dinner, and then enjoyed some pool time afterwards. The kids always love swimming, and there is never anyone at Mimi's pool, which makes it really nice! A refreshing end to the weekend.

This evening we went over to our friends Dave and Beth's home for dinner and fellowship. My kids enjoyed playing with their daughter, Grace Elizabeth, and the adults enjoying eating and great conversation. I feel very blessed by this new friendship!

On this, our last day before we start school back, my kids begged for sugar cookies to decorate. So that's what we did. Ironically, Avery is always the first to volunteer her help when making cookies. She gets so excited about it, and wants to pour and measure and know what each ingredient is. It's really adorable, though messy. Then everyone wants to help roll out and cut the dough, and we all decorated them after I put Avery down for her nap. It's not that I didn't want her to decorate - I don't mind - it was just bad timing. It was her naptime, and she really needed a nap. She missed out, but there will be other times, I know it.

I was rushing around (as usual - one day I will be a prepared person) getting lunches and shoes and diapers and keys to head out the door for our HSG when Ansley says "Mom! Get your camera." So I did and this is what I got. I love that she looks out for my photo habit, and I love that Christian and Avery are starting to have more moments together. (They are very into building tents on the porch, so that is why there are blankets everywhere!)

I was getting her ready for bed this evening (John was out of town) and as I was putting her diaper on she says "Who's dat?" and I turn the diaper around and look and say "Winnie the Pooh? You don't know who that is?" She shakes her head. So even though it was bedtime, I shuffled through our old CD's and found a Winnie the Pooh video and put it on. All the kids seemed to be enthralled with it, and this is how she watched it. She is so doggone sweet and funny, when she wants to be. She also now calls it "Winnie the Pootie" which makes me laugh. And laugh.
