I love Thanksgiving, but I always look forward to the day after when we can really start decorating! We got a lot of our decorations up today, and I just love sitting in our family room by the glow of the tree and a cozy fire.

We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving as a family (Mimi included, of course) today. We watched the parade, made lots of food, played games, talked and laughed. I am so thankful for my family!

We all enjoyed our Second Annual Turkey Decorating Contest. It's always really funny and entertaining to see what everyone comes up with. Avery even participated this year!

We did get snow today! We so love snow around here. The kids were up early and so excited to go out and play. Avery took one step outside and decided she didn't want to go, but Ansley and Christian played for awhile. This is the earliest I can ever remember getting snow! We hope there's more to come.

He loves to draw. I can always find him drawing at some point in the day. (And usually with the tongue of concentration.) I encourage his skills every chance I get. I love that he loves to draw!

We are busting out the Christmas decorations around here. I tell myself it's because Thanksgiving is so late this year, so we want to enjoy them. Ansley was so excited, she put this tree together, put on the lights and the ribbon all by herself. She is such a helpful girl! It's always so much fun to hang the ornaments on this tree and remember what we were doing at that time in our life. Christmastime is so full of memories!

Technically, this was taken Sunday, it was just Saturday night when we went to bed, which was after midnight. Ansley was spending the night at Grace Elizabeth's, and I was checking on Christian and this is what I found. I don't recall this ever happening before, so I had to document it. She slept there all night too!

This is my good friend Beth (and me, of course). Through a series of very fortunate events, we have become really good friends. She's that friend that I feel like I've always known, and that now I can't imagine doing life without. She is real and funny, which means together we are downright hysterical! On this day, John was helping her husband install balusters in their home, so we went over to hang out. We ended up staying the entire day (with a baking lesson in there somewhere) and then Ansley ended up spending the night with their daughter, Grace Elizabeth. It was an absolutely perfect day!

Today we had our Book Club meeting for November. The girls have been reading Pippi Longstocking, and they all loved it! They all got to make "Thing Finders", just like in the book. So cute! There's also lots of playing and laughter and cookies, of course.

She does use the big potty, and she's doing great. But every once in awhile, I guess a girl just likes to relax. With an iPad. In the middle of the living room. Why not?
