Today we went to the zoo with my friends Beth and Megan and all our kids. It was a pretty hot day, but it was fun to chat and laugh and watch the kids enjoy each other and see all the animals.

I take pictures. This blog is a way for me to capture the every day moments in this season of my life before it becomes too foggy in my memory for me to recall. This is a tangible reminder of what my life was like, what we did, what was important to us, how we spent our days. These are the every day matters, because to me, every day matters.

We were all vegging out before bedtime, and this is who Moky chose to lounge on. These kitties like to spread their love around. Maybe one day, I'll stop posting so many kitty pictures, but not today.

The kids asked if they could wash my car for me, so I said sure. When it was all said and done, I not only had a clean car on the outside, but they also cleaned out the inside, too!

Our neighbors took Ansley and Christian to our neighborhood pool this afternoon, and Avery was so sad she couldn't go, so John got her a little pool to play in. She had a blast, as you can see, and all three got in some playtime before the older two left. Ansley is splashing her, and she is delighted, obviously.

We enjoyed another behind the scenes tour at Biltmore this morning, and then got back home mid-afternoon.
Did you know I love these kitties? They are so funny and entertaining. Moky still loves to perch on my shoulder and take a nap, and I love this photo I captured. He's just so sweet!

The guys went shooting this morning while Ashley and I hung out, and then we headed to the Biltmore for a behind the scenes tour. I found the history here to be quite fascinating! It was such fun to wander the same halls that George and Edith roamed so long ago, and take it all in. We enjoyed leisurely meals, and headed to Ruth's Chris this evening for dinner. Then we came back to the condo for games and laughter. Such a fun weekend!

Today we headed out mid-morning to Asheville to spend the weekend with our good friends Mark and Ashley. It is a belated birthday gift for John. (We are very thankful that Mimi, JonJon and Missy stayed with our kids for the weekend, and had a blast, of course!). We met at a Mexican restaurant in Asheville for lunch when we arrived. It's been many years since we've had a no-kid getaway, so we really enjoyed a leisurely lunch, chatting, laughing and catching up. After lunch we headed to the Biltmore to tour, which was a great day to do it because it wasn't very crowded. It was a beautiful and enjoyable day! (I didn't notice until posting this picture the goofy photobomber at the restaurant.)

This evening was Ansley's ballet recital. She finished up her second year of dance at Van Metre. She really loves it, and was very excited. John, Mimi and I were excited to attend and see her accomplishments this year. She did great, and we are so proud of her!
