Ansley had her last swim meet of the season this evening. I'm just so proud of the way she has been so determined and committed to this. We have never done our neighborhood swim team before because I didn't think it would interest her (well, okay, and the time commitment!) but she has really, really enjoyed it. At this swim meet, she got second place on her independent backstroke, and three fourth place ribbons. She was pretty thrilled, and we were so happy for her!

I take pictures. This blog is a way for me to capture the every day moments in this season of my life before it becomes too foggy in my memory for me to recall. This is a tangible reminder of what my life was like, what we did, what was important to us, how we spent our days. These are the every day matters, because to me, every day matters.

Moky is the loviest. He is so affectionate it's crazy. When the weather is nice out, I will leave this window cracked to the screened in porch (instead of leaving the door open) and they can go in and out. (Yes, I do spoil my cats.) Moky always makes me smile because when I see him like this it's like part of him is hot but he can't quite commit to coming inside completely. They both really love the porch!

Dinner at Mimi's and pool time is always a fun weekend's end tradition. We took Christian (the friend, not the son) with us, and then his dad picked him up later this evening. Christian (the son) had a fun long weekend of having a buddy around, but alas, all good things must come to an end.

The Christians really wanted to build something today, so John got out there with them and made this. They absolutely loved it, and everyone had a great time on it. John pulled them on it often, but Ansley would pull them around as well, and she and Paige enjoyed rides on it from John. It was a big hit, and when I got home from the grocery store, it was very handy to pile all the bags on and pull it to the door. Then the Christians unloaded all of them for me. So it serves two purposes - entertainment and practicality!

We enjoyed some fun on the lake this evening thanks to our friends Gary and Beth. Mimi joined us as well, and we rode around, and then did some tubing. Christian (my friend Megan's son) went first with John, then our Christian went, and then I went. It was a lot of fun! This shot is of John and our Christian.
