I am trying to fight off the funk that Christian and Avery had over Christmas (they both went to the doctor yesterday and they both have ear infections), so in addition to all my remedies, I do think that rest helps fight things off. So I just laid down on the couch to rest for a bit while the kids were all upstairs in the playroom, and these two decided to join me. It delighted me, because while these boys are very lovey, so far they haven't been lap kitties. I was pleasantly surprised, and then of course we had to nap together.

I take pictures. This blog is a way for me to capture the every day moments in this season of my life before it becomes too foggy in my memory for me to recall. This is a tangible reminder of what my life was like, what we did, what was important to us, how we spent our days. These are the every day matters, because to me, every day matters.

I love these sweet sibling moments, enjoying Christmas gifts. Avery needed someone to read the instructions in her My Little Pony book, so Christian sat down next to her and they worked on it together. So sweet!

I forgot to mention that poor Christian and Avery are sick. It's the first Christmas in awhile that we had puny kids. So yesterday I waited too long to get a family picture, and Avery fell asleep and Christian wasn't feeling well. So, never fear, we got one today! I take a family picture every year on Christmas, and they are always fun to look back on. I really can't believe how big Ansley looks here. I sure do love these people!
December 25, 2014 Part I
I love Christmas Day, the warmth and coziness and togetherness, sometimes it's all just too much for my fragile heart. I love how everyone loves to play with their new toys, and they are so occupied with fun new things. Ansley got several Lego Friends sets that she worked on most of the day. She also received several How To Draw books (she loves to draw!), a new tote bag, books, and stuffed animals. Christian's big hits were the remote controlled helicopter and several Star Wars Lego sets, along with stuffed animals and books. Avery's big gifts were Ariel's castle Little People set, Elsa and Aurora dolls, and a hair styling kit that she played with Missy ALL day long! JonJon got a remote control drone from us, and John got one as well, so all the boys really enjoyed playing with those today! I got a new Kitchen Aid mixer that I can't wait to start baking with! A wonderful, blessed day.

JonJon and Missy arrived today, and we enjoyed Christmas Eve dinner at Mimi's, along with games and handbells. Then we headed home and the kids opened their pajamas. Christian and Avery love cozy, wintry pj's, but Ansley is still my hot natured girl. Thankfully, she loves these, and I love this picture by the tree.

I decided to make homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast tomorrow, but a few of them disappeared today. The kids all said I should make them more often. (I think it's been a year since I've made them!) I agreed, and said I'd add it to my New Year's list.

Today we read one of my favorite Christmas books, Gingerbread Baby, and then made gingerbread men, of course. Avery really enjoyed the story this year, and everyone enjoyed cutting out and rolling gingerbread!
